Let's *not* move to Mars

Mars’ weather amongst other things, is most inhospitable, blowing electrostatic willy-willies and snowing “toxic oxidants” across the surface.

These acids & discharges would have to be faced by any molecule wanting to qualify as “life’ or anything like it. Including anything you wanted to grow.

I imagine that the electrostatics would make anything mechanical kind-of interesting, as well.
