A local PC supplier is selling 1GB Flash cards for $50 apiece.
Admittedly, this is 100x as expensive as an individual floppy disk, but it is a danged sight more portable, holds about 1,000x as much data (and do it faster and with less media changes) and at $16 for a USB2 card, the interface is actually cheaper than a new floppy drive (at $19, that’s verging on an achievement).
Ain’t no more excuses for keeping floppy drives, once I read my old media.
