FOSTFOLG performed well, even getting up to top cog in the wiggly chaos which it pleases modern developers to call “streets”. Even though developers have *“improved” most of the area with bulldozers and scrapers some years ago, they haven’t got around to replacing more than about 1/3 of the “improved” area with random brick boxes yet.
The impact of all of this for a cyclist is that there is no pleasant bushland to cycle through roughly, and no hard, clear streets to cycle through smoothly – just soft, blowing, mostly yellow sand.
My next micro-expedition will be a tad further north, along Burns’ Beach road. I’ll take my camera and see if I can grab a shot of the weird bundles of green rods that seem to serve as flowers hereabouts.
